Every March 1st all Greeks wear a “Martis” bracelet by Red and white yarn🧶 woven together, (The white symbolizing purity, and, the red, life and passion), as a celebration symbol of the start of 💐spring 🌸and as tradition has it, people wearing it will be protected from sunburns from the early spring sun. The tradition is said to be linked to the ancient Greeks.

In the local shops of HYDRA, POROS and AEGINA you will find plenty of different styles and patterns to choose from, so you will take upon this Greek tradition with you.

HYDRA

The first stop of our day cruise from Athens is the cosmopolitan Hydra, with its cobblestone alleys, its unspoiled –over the centuries- unique architectural beauty, as well as the traditional means of transportation that you can find on the island, its donkeys, will make the visitors fall in love with it at first sight.

The vessel remains at the port of Hydra for 1 hour and 55 minutes, , giving enough time to the passengers of our day trip to discover some of the most wonderful parts of the island, the beautiful forts and the impressive mansions, enjoying a walk along the picturesque alleys, or even discover the historic landmarks, by taking part in the historical walking tour of the island, offered by the Athens Day Trips of Evermore Cruises. Don’t miss the Hydra Walking Tour before continuing your cruise to Poros and Aegina.

POROS

The next stop of our one day trip from Athens, is the port of Poros. A leafy island, with an insuperable natural beauty and thousands of pine trees, expanding from the steep beaches to the sandy beaches, making Poros the island of romance and calmness. Before continuing our day trip to Aegina, we stay at Poros for 50 minutes. Walk across the town and discover the city hall, the archeological museum, the public library, the cultural center and the white little houses on the island, and head towards the highest point of the island, to discover the historical and famous clock tower of Poros.

AEGINA

The last stop of our Athens day trip, is the historical Aegina. The biggest island of the Saronic gulf, which took its name from the beautiful nymph that was kidnapped by Zeus. Aegina is well known across the world for the delicious pistachios, the beautiful beaches and the Temple of Afaia. We stay at the port of Aegina for 2 hours to enjoy our last part of the day cruise. Enjoy your coffee and the pistachio sweets at the beautiful port or participate in the Aegina Historical Tours provided by our professional staff and multilingual guides, and discover Aegina’s best hidden treasures.
