Turturduvor, we say in Swedish for a loving couple, or Lovebirds in english...These beautiful little birds made by our ceramist Mr Babis was as present to all guests of the weddings. They are attached in a so called Bobouniera. There are also sweets in the bag are called "Koufeta", an almond swept in sugar. These are always included in all weddings, the guests eat them to show respect and to congratulate the bride and groom.

Hillside Home 💙💙💙

The Hillside Home, with its magnificent panoramic view of the gulf of Chania and the Aegean Sea, is situated at the top of the cliff in the picturesque old village of Platanias.

The house is owned by Mathioulakis family who owns the traditional bakery of the village and has been passed down from generation to generation. It consists of a large fully equipped kitchen with a separate dining area, bathroom with a shower cabin, a spare room that can be used as a bedroom and can accommodate up to 2-3 persons and a spacious balcony where you can enjoy the sunrise as well as the sunset.

👉👉👉 Every morning the family will bring you a basket full of freshly baked products.

Platanias, the very famous, popular and cosmopolitan village, is located 11 km west of Chania and 18 km west from Chania airport. A few steps besides the house there are many of the old village restaurants and further down the hill, you can easily explore more of Platanias fine restaurants, shops and of course the sandy beach. Parking is available close to the house.

THODOROU ISLAND

Thodorou is right across the village of Platanias, it's not allowed to set foot on the island because of the “Kri Kri” goats. They are protected so the island is a nature reserve. The only day you can go ashore is on the 8th of June when the island church has it's nameday, Agios Thodorou. You can go to the island with boat from Platanias that has been especially organized for this day. Note that it's only in the morning time so make sure to be there early.

From the sweet little harbour of Platanias during the whole summer you will find boat excursions that leaves from there. Go for half day trip and see the island of Thodorou up an close. A perfect activity for all ages.

If you prefer more quiet atmosphere, choose the western part of the beach closer to the Keritis river. There you might also find a sea turtle nest from June to July marked by Archelon, a voluntary association protecting the sea turtles.

Welcome to Hotel Evropi! We are Located at Platanias, Chania, West Crete .
We are right in middle of the village close to everything, but yet in a quiet neighbourhood.

Hotel Evropi has the perfect location, near to everything. Platanias sandy beach is only 300 meters away and the busy street of the village with all the restaurants and shops only 150 meters. Despite that the hotel’s location is in a quiet and peaceful area.

We have large apartments that are big and bright, around 48 square meters. Our studios are about 28 square meters and all of our rooms are equipped with Air Condition, Ceiling Fan, Flat Screen Tv, Kitchenette, Fridge, Wi-Fi (free of charge), Coffee machine and a Safety Box.

We have a big pool with sunbeds and umbrellas were you can enjoy those perfect sunny days. Right next to pool we have the pool bar, here we always maintain a warm and easygoing atmosphere to make you vacation carefree and enjoyable.

THE HOTEL EVROPI BAR RESTAURANT

Since 1998 we have served thousands of happy visitors. The secret is simple:

We only choose high quality ingredients cooked with love and our extra virgin olive oil . You will always find reasonable prices at the pool bar, so you never have to think about what to order or not to order.

Breakfast is served between 8:00 - 10:00 and costs 6.5 euro per adult, 3.25 euro per child (younger than 12 years old).

Kitchen is open for meals between 12:00 - 21:00.

Some of our dishes are : Schnitzel, Meat Balls, Burgers ,Hamburger, Pizza , our famous Mousaka , Tzatziki ,Roast beef , Pork or Chicken souvlaki , Omelettes, Greek salad, Tuna salad, Fruit salad etc.

Important : All dishes and fried dishes such as french fries , are cooked in extra virgin olive oil from our own production.
