Villa Ramann Rhodes is situated along the west coast of Rhodes in Fanes🏡💒🏖
The village of Fanes, has a picturesque harbour, and narrow streets. Fanes is known as the village of colours as there are many houses that are painted with bold designs.
Back in the spring of 2011, the designer Loucas Nikolitsis had the inspiration to paint 72 village houses, yards and walls of old buildings with colourful designs. The aim of this initiative was to refresh the old village's colours and breathe new life into old houses.
Within 12 days, with the help of the young people of the village, they managed to paint and transform Fanes into an incredibly beautiful village, with colourful houses and streets.
Today a large part Fanes village centre and around the village church is freshly painted. Even long abandoned houses were not demolished. Instead, the ruins were painted: they now give the village a wildly romantic touch. The village initiative still exists today and is gradually implementing new ideas, and the inhabitants are proud of their work.
The project got great publicity by the media and art festivals started being organized.
Fanes name came from the lighthouse that was in the village or the temple of Faneos. Many, however, argue that it came from a type of grass that grew in the area.
