Rhodes offers a unique blend of historical, natural and cultural landscapes. In this first part of our two-part series, we invite you to discover five of the island's ten must-see wonders.

Rhodes Town: A stroll through the medieval town of Rhodes Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, takes you back in time. The imposing ramparts, cobbled streets and majestic Grand Master's Palace tell the story of the Knights of St. John. A perfect blend of culture, sunny beaches and a lively atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Lindos: Perched on the island's east coast, Lindos charms with its Acropolis offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. A day in Lindos: a jewel on the island of Rhodes

Start your day by climbing to the heights of the town to visit the Lindos Acropolis and the majestic ruins of the Temple of Athena Lindia, dating from the 4th century BC. Take time to soak up the history of the site and admire the view over the Aegean Sea.

Then stroll down the whitewashed streets, enjoying the Greek architecture and charm. Visit local craft stores and cozy cafés as you explore the picturesque streets.

For a sunny afternoon, head to St. Paul's Bay, a cove just a few minutes' walk from the village, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters. It's the perfect place to relax and swim.

Explore the City of Rhodes and Its Treasures from Antiquity to Today

Embark on a journey through time and explore the city of Rhodes and its historical treasures in just one day.

Start by wandering through the medieval alleys of the Old Town of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and make your way to the Palace of the Grand Masters. Built in the 14th century by the Knights of the Order of Saint John, it was later renovated during the Italian period. During your visit, you can admire the impressive mosaics and imagine the lives of the knights. Continue your historical exploration at the Archaeological Museum.

Next, descend the Street of the Knights to reach the Port of Mandraki, where the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, once stood. Today, two statues of deer, symbols of the island, mark the entrance to the port, where you can admire yachts, wooden boats, as well as medieval windmills and fortifications.

Climb up to Monte Smith Hill to admire the Acropolis of Rhodes, the Temple of Apollo, its ancient theater, and stadium. You will also enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city.

To finish, head to Kalithea, known for its thermal springs built by the Italians in the 1920s, and enjoy the beach in a unique setting.

This weekend, we at MBC Travel had the pleasure of organizing an exceptional event : a gala dinner at the beautiful Kallithea Spings in Rhodes, as part of an incentive trip and dinner, for a memorable evening.

Kallithea Springs, with its historic architecture and enchanting setting, provided the perfect backdrop for the evening. Guests were greeted with welcome cocktails, followed by dinner. The evening was hosted by our amazing DJ, creating a festive and elegant atmosphere.

Built in the 4th century BC, Rhodes' acropolis on Agios Stefanos hill, also known as Monte Smith, offers breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea and contains impressive architectural remains, including a temple dedicated to the sun god Helios, a stadium and a theater. Unlike most ancient acropolises, this one was not fortified.

Excavations began in 1912 and the site has only been partially renovated. Its historical significance, beautiful architecture and picturesque landscape make it a popular destination for travellers interested in history and a quiet stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Extra info : Cats are beloved residents of Rhodes' Acropolis, where they roam freely among the ancient ruins. They are the discreet guardians of this historic site. Volunteers provide medical care, monitor populations and educate visitors about the importance of respecting and protecting these animals.

Dominating the Aegean Sea from a dizzying height, the Acropolis of Lindos is a veritable archaeological treasure trove. Its ruins include the temple of Athena Lindia, patron goddess of the city, whose majestic columns (6 x 13 columns) still bear witness to past grandeur. The remains of an ancient theater, where the echoes of Greek tragedies and comedies once resounded, add poetry to this emblematic location.
