So much has changed over Santorini the past 50 years, especially due to the rapid growth of the island as a top tourist destination and to the constant construction of new hotels in every corner of Santorini. Nevertheless, this island remains still unique in the Aegean Archipelago due to its historical and geological features, its cultural and architectural marks and traditional settlements and of course due to its active volcano and fascinating caldera.
