Natural and unnatural disasters have unfortunately become a little too common nowadays.
As our country has been mourning for the devastating fires that had many human and animal casualties but also left our nature wounded in many parts of Greece, we had stopped posting happy-centric content in respect of the situation.
We want to thank all of you that reached out asking if we are fine and sending all your positive thoughts and support and inform all our followers, customers and friends that we are all fine and weren't affected by this devastating event.

Bezesteni is one of the oldest buildings in Thessaloniki.Almost six centuries from its construction, in its narrow passages, Bezesteni continues to house the textile trade in the heart of Thessaloniki. "Bez"" in Ottoman means fabric, which is why the "Bezesteni" of Thessaloniki, built in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmet II, resembles Bezesteni in Serres and Larissa, which also functioned as textile markets.
What is also cool about this place? The construction is of stone and on each side of the roof, there are three domes, a total of six. The building has faced sedimentation problems, so at times there has been maintenance work going on. In the domes, engraved letters and words were found in various languages, proving that workers from different nationalities were involved in the building.

Let's walk through one of Thessaloniki's oldest markets, Kapani. Kapani Market is located next to Aristotelous Square in the heart of the city.
In the narrow arcades you can find butchers, spice vendors, fishmongers, grocery stores but also shops selling household items at cheap prices.
Halal Food
Finding food items while visiting the Kapani and Modiano Markets will not be a problem as visitors to both markets will be able to find a variety of fresh items to purchase.

How to say 'cheers' in Greek? Στην υγειά μας! ( Stin igia mas!) or Yia mas, is a common Greek toasting phrase that literally means "to our health!". Other phrases that you might hear are "Eviva" originating from places with a Venetian influence, or "Aspro pato" which means "white bottom", meaning “bottoms up” or drink it all as a shot!

Epiphany, also Theophany, or Three Kings' Day, is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ.
It is a public holiday in Greece and a day that marks the end of the Christmas holidays.
In the morning of January 6th , priests all around Greece throw the cross in water.
Depending on the region, the cross is thrown in the sea, river or lake. Young men dive into those waters in search of the cross as it is considered good luck if you find it and bring it out.
