The cargo ship Vera (58m. long) was built in 1956 and crashed on Lefteris Reef in the Aegean on February 10,1999.
It broke into two pieces and sank to a depth of 25 meters.
Its bow is standing at a vertical position, while its stern a few meters further lies at the bottom on its side.
Today it hosts an interesting marine ecosystem, which in combination with the eerie surroundings of the wreck and its ideal depth of 7 to 27m. makes Vera an interesting attraction for divers.

Another visit in remote and mysterious Samothrace island is over.
Many thanks to the MMCA and its members who joined us in order to get to know this amazing island in depth.
We toured archaeological sites, we visited less known medieval fortresses, we hiked in thick woodland, we have had dips in crystal clear natural pools, we discovered megalithic monuments, we enjoyed a splash in remote beaches, we learned about the ancient cults of the Undeworld, and of course we tasted the marvelous local cuisine.

Approaching Samothrace.
Few other Mediterranean islands are as dramatic seen from the sea; the enormous mass of Mt Saos looms over the approaching ferry, like some higher celestial ship.
