After spending a couple of fantastic months in the magical Caribbean, we are down to our last few weeks before heading back to the Mediterranean.

MIO-SHI is due for transport by Sevenstar early April and will be back home in Greece and available for charter starting in June.

We feel blessed to have met and spent time with amazing guests, locals and most of all fellow cruisers we met along the way.

If you want to be a part of our journey, we currently have 4 weeks available for charter between June & August.

Last week we found ourself in a situation where living from the sea was the only option. We had spent a couple of days in Menorca and left the marina without really thinking about what we’d eat the next couple of days. As we planned on going to a place where there would be restaurants, it didn’t matter anyway.
Unfortunately, the place turned out really unfit for anchoring so we were forced to move spots and go to a place a few miles further, too far for the dinghy. The new spot was beautiful but as we only had some rice left, we needed to think about finding something to eat.
Luckily we had found some spearguns earlier this season which turned out to be very useful. Stephan and I swam out to a rock formation and started hunting in 8-10m of water. Within the first minutes, stephan shot a nice bass type of fish. We still don’t know what it is exactly but a local said it’s an invasive species that came here from the canaries. After chasing a nice grouper and failing to close the deal, we both shot some decent sized Amberjacks before heading back to the boat where Eline prepared a lovely meal.

For us fishing and spearfishing is our main source of protein during longer passages or when we’re off the grid. The feeling to be able to provide your own food is really liberating and makes you stand closer to nature. A feeling that has unfortunately become almost alien to most of us.

Some snaps from the past week. We flew home to Belgium and spent time with friends and family before heading back to Italy. The first days were about exploring the Amalfi coast and its beautiful villages.
The second day a high-pressure system moved in so we had to leave right away or risk ending up without wind. Not even 50nm into the crossing to Corsica and exactly that happened. We motored 20 out of the 30hrs which nearly drove us mad.
Luckily we caught some delicious tuna, spotted dolphins at sunset and drank lots of tea ☕️
Also worth mentioning: we caught our first fish on the handline 🎉🎉

CHASING SUMMER - for 2 years we have been working towards this day, the day we could finally embark on the epic adventure that is the Atlantic Crossing.
However, first of all we need to get to the Atlantic Ocean which is over 2000nm away. At the time of writing we are half way our first passage over the Ionian sea. (Greece to Italy)
We’ll make stops in Naples, Corsica, Mallorca, Ibiza, Marbella, Gibraltar and the Canary Islands before crossing 2700nm to Antigua & Barbuda.
If you’re at one of these places in the coming weeks/months, hit us up, we’d love to meet you!

Throwing it back to a fantastic week with friends in the Greek Cyclades Islands. Spent some time exploring the few islands we hadn’t been to yet and discovered a couple pearls of which Syros was our favourite!

On the second day we were watching some fish whilst hoisting the anchor when Philippe dropped his prescription glasses in 12m of water. We dropped the anchor again and freedove to retrieve the glasses. When coming up, Eline mentioned she spotted some spearguns lying on the seafloor, right next to our anchor. Unfortunately we didn’t film the operation but we eventually managed to retrieve the spearguns using our diving equipment. We now have a cool range of spearguns that we hope to put to use soon!

On another note, our friends from brought it to our attention that the Corinth Canal had reopened, which significantly shortens our upcoming trip to Italy mid September. It will depend on the wind direction if we eventually go through but we sure want to!

Stay tuned, we’re planning on sharing this epic journey with you the best we can. ⛵️
