Η περιοχή των Στενών του Νεστου εξαιτίας της εξαιρετικά πλούσιας χλωρίδας και πανίδας εχει χαρακτηριστεί ως "Αισθητικό Δάσος" και προστατεύεται.
Ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να απολαύσει κανεις τα Στενά του Νεστου ειναι να διανύσει με πιρόγα τα περίπου 21 km της διαδρομής με την ομάδα του Ne.Ro Alternative Route.
Πρόκειται για μια μαγευτική διαδρομή μεσα στη φυση, εφόσον δεν υπαρχει καμμια ανθρώπινη δρ

αστηριότητα εκει κοντα, ούτε περνάει δρόμος μεσα απο τα στενά. Because of its particularly rich flora and fauna, the area of Nestos' Straits has been characterized as an "Aesthetic Forest" and it is protected. The best way for someone to enjoy Nestos' Straits, is to cross its 21 km of the journey paddling peacefully in an Indian-like pirogue with the Ne.Ro Alternative Route team.
