The monastery of Anafonitria with its characteristic tower is situated in the area of Plemonariou, northwest of Zakynthos Zante.

In byzantine times the miraculous icon of Our Virgin "Anafonitria"was brought here from the captured Constantinople in 1453.

The tower exists as a steeple and the area is a place of pilgrimage, the reason for this being the binding of Our " Saint of Forgiveness " Dionysus.
