Let's talk about trekking poles. 🌋
Do we recommend them? YES. Do we have available to rent? Yes. You will hear from our team during the briefing that we highly recommend renting hiking poles. We have mentioned that this hike is demanding but definitely possible. Trekking poles help you both ways of the hike! Remember, we hike everyday and a lot of hikers do chose to rent trekking poles, which are hard to find in Guatemala. We ask you to please take care of everything you rent as if the gear was your own. 😊

What kind of food is included in the tour?
What’s included in the tour? 🌱💪 In summary: 4 meals, snacks and water.
Once you get to the agency, you’ll be able to enjoy a continental breakfast + an energy shot. After a the first hours of hiking, the group stops and eats lunch in nature 🌳. At camp you’ll have warm dinner after having some hot artisanal chocolate and a on the next day, before leaving camp, a warm delicious breakfast. 🤤 And yes, only cater plant based food. 🌱 What we eat, has one of the biggest impacts to the environment. Don’t worry, we never gave up the taste and nutrition!
- We always recommend to take extra snacks, specially if you’re hiking Fuego.
- Filtered water and bottles are included, you don’t need to buy any water before getting to the agency.

cc: There are 27 geologically active volcanoes in Guatemala. The reason you're probably watching this video is Fuego. We will hike Acatenango and you'll be able to see Fuego erupting on good weather conditions. Fuego's most recent eruptive activity started in 2002. One of the most common types of eruptions Fuego has is a steam eruption: it is grey and mostly made of water moisture. The second type of eruption from Fuego is a black cloud that looks like smoke. But contrary to popular belief, it is not smoke: it is ash and lava. The ash is very micro fined glass crystals that float hundreds of kilometers away. The best part is at night. The lava will actually glow this bright orange and it is incredible. It's the most neat thing you'll ever see.
