We LOVE Flores. The boat ride around Lake Petèn Itzà is spectacular with views of the church on the main island, huge iguanas on the nearby island trees & a view of "Cortez's horse" with great local folklore.

UNESCO Guatemala recently received the Diego de Porres Gold Award from the National Council for the Protection of Antigua Guatemala bringing up fond memories of when Elizabeth Bell received this award on December 1, 2001. It is the highest award given!
