California rains! In February I joined Mr World Grand Canyons Rocky Contos for some kayaking on some rarely-run rivers in the Santa Barbara area. We had medium-low levels on the Ventura, Santa Ynes, and Matilija Rivers. Thanks Rocky for the logistics and thanks Aquafur for the slick and dry drysuit!

Late post with with some pictures of 1st-descent exploring of the Río Pushilhá in Guatemala (upstream of the well-known Moho River run in Belize). I'd never seen the Caxlompon waterfall but apparently it{s's a minor tourist spot. Far northern Guatemala (Petén departamento) holds many travertine waterfall and cave runs hidden in the jungle.

Finally got to paddle this season with the amazing Max Baldetty! This was yesterday on the Rio Coyolate in Guatemala. Water has been super low this year but it's coming in now. We will organize a rafting trip here in October.
