This is no hograce! The lady partakes in the pig market of Olintepeque near Quetzaltenango. Everybody comes here to replenish their livestock. And then we cram into the interior of the market to enjoy a traditional meal of tamales or chicharrones.

This child enjoys its first steps in a playpen built by its Kekchi father in Chicacnab in a far off Cloud Forest village. I would like to think that the Maya since thousands of years used this affectionate way to entertain their babies.

You have got to sweat for one hour through the rainforest to get to Laguna Lachuá. But then a dip into the pristine lagoon feels like paradise. A tip for orchid fans: swim along the eastern rim where the canopy hangs into the water. Don Chepe worked with us saving Guatemala's rainforests. This incredible spot where even the rocks are green is called Sacranix. Don Chepe is 76 years old. A few years ago he married a 15 year old girl and they have two babies now. Definitely on the bright side of life!
