Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave is the most popular cave in Belize and a Top Sacred Cave in the world. It's an exciting activity with so much cultural significance and immersion in nature. It's exciting to go through the cave, over and sometimes under different limestone formations with a headlamp in the dark zone.
The highlight lies at the cave's very end, a complete skeletal body calcified to the ground that has been there for over a thousand years. All this is evidence of the Human Sacrifices performed inside caves and surely on surface sites at most Maya Cities during this same period, the terminal classic period.

I had the opportunity to visit this Maya city in Honduras on a trip I led through Central America.
I share just a few pictures to give you an idea of the amazing architecture, their tall and elaborate Stelea. The wildlife was impressive, especially the Scarlet Macaws flying around the site and posing for us.

JAGUAR SIGHTING IN TIKAL This was mid morning as we walked the back trail to Temple IV when coming from the Twin Pyramid Complex R. He was following the trail but as he saw us, he picked up speed and eventually disappeared into the bushes. It was very exciting to see a jaguar in the wild and for my guests, it was magical! This was definitely a highlight of their trip, everyone was soo happy and I shock for what they had just witnessed. Over the past months, there have been over 10 Jaguar sighting in Tikal. We have a healthy population and for some reason, they are showing themselves more I personally saw another Jaguar in May and my brother has seen them 2 -3 times this year.
