I hope you enjoy the magazine and appreciate my stories about the people of Iran and Myanmar—two of my favourite countries for travel. I have been to Iran twice and to Myanmar 14 times.

If you were trying to book a few nights to come where I am now on the remote Boulder Island in the Myeik Archipelago of Myanmar, you may have found that some booking sites (such as booking.com) show SOLD OUT. There currently is a problem with some booking websites so the best is to book by writing to [email protected]. This could be the best holiday you’ve ever had! You can also combine an island stay with a multi-day cruise on the lovely Sea Gipsy boat which visits several islands 🏝️with long white beaches and turquoise waters—totally unspoiled and undeveloped.

Printed-on-demand, so not exactly cheap but nothing great is cheap these days. You get them almost at cost as I add just $1 to keep track of sales. Printing is normally done in just a few days, and shipping takes from just 2 or 3 days in USA/Europe, and longer depending on where you live. For those who prefer a free digital version, download the Magzter or Globerovers app, or on a browser view at:

Merry Christmas to all. I'm off to the remote unspoiled Boulder Island in Myanmar this coming week—until early Feb. Read about Boulder Island in the latest issue so you can also go there and be in heaven on earth. Yes, it is really that beautiful: Remote+Unspoiled+Idyllic.

Rising from the azure waves like a golden sentinel, these boulders are standing guard over an untouched tropical island. This serene sunset photo hopefully captures the untouched essence of the remote Boulder Island, located in the outer reaches of the Myeik Archipelago of southern Myanmar, west of Thailand. These monumental rock formations are seamlessly balanced in harmony with the white sands and translucent shallows, untouched by modernity’s footprints. There are few places on earth in easy reach which remains so untouched by mass tourism as the islands of the Myeik Archipelago. I will continue to explore this region and introduce you to these beautiful spots on earth. Read all about this region in the Dec issue of GlobeRovers magazine, available very soon. :)
