In the autumn, the forests of Mt. Hakkoda become a picture of beauty saturated with bright and warm hues. The Aomori Nebuta Festival is one of the most fabulous events in the Tohoku in autumn according to the Japan National Tourism Organization (日本政府観光局 - 訪日インバウンド情報). Nebuta, an enormous lantern float made of traditional Japanese painted washi paper, is one of the highlights of the Aomori Prefectural Festival.
Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya Hotel has its own special floats during the Nebuta festival, allowing you to experience the Aomori culture in a more personal way. The hotel also boasts a variety of hot spring baths such as Neburi-nagashi Toro, which actually features replicas of the Nebuta floats and lanterns.
The hotel theatre puts on a local variety show every night, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in Aomori culture. During autumn season, the hotel also plays host to the Jawamegu Apple Festival, which offers apple-themed cuisines, activities, and games for guests to soak up the festive cheer.
