This is the first design project for , a series of posters for a sharing session by the Travel Photographer Celiaphotowriterhk
The Convener Seasons Wong of HKPPN is a friend of mine, and I heard that he was struggling with the poster design, I wasn’t a member of HKPPN or any professional community, but I always wanted to contribute myself to the industry, so I told him that I would be happy to do the design, then I asked him for what he wanted to achieve through the posters, and I explained what I would do to answer through the design.
Doing a poster design, is like all other designs, the first priority is not making it artistic or beautiful, because there is always something to achieve. To me, design is the answer of a question, design is always something to resolve, so the design must base on a logic. When the logic is made clear, the layout will then follow, the design now is just the matter of how do you do it, doesn’t it sound simple?
From the first draft design of a single poster, comments from Seasons and Celia, changes made, adaptation to other 3 versions, output of the final artwork and the job completed are done in less than 24 hours and less than 3 actual working hours.
Clear logic made everything simple and more efficient, never believe in feeling or muse can do any help, especially in a fixed schedule.
Many people know me as a Photographer, but what is inside me or really me is an Art Director, photography to me is just another form of doing art direction, and so all types of graphic design is actually my profession and is what I like to do.
Thanks Seasons Wong and Celiaphotowriterhk for giving me the chance to enjoy doing the posters, it was a great fun among doing photography all the times.
