TOA's Legacy of Innovation and Purpose, Revived Across 60 Years

In 1962, TOA embarked on an ambitious experiment known as the “Super-Sized PA Sound Transmission Test” featuring an impressive 6-meter-long speaker. Seeking to break boundaries, our engineers conducted nine rounds of testing, including preliminary trials, to see how far sound could travel. Ultimately, this bold attempt succeeded in reaching an impressive 12 kilometers. Their unwavering mission—to extend sound across great distances and share voices with as many people as possible—remains the foundation of TOA’s purpose to this day.

To mark our 90th anniversary, we have faithfully recreated the original super-sized speaker using modern technology. Our commitment to innovation and pursuit of challenges endures, grounded in the original spirit of “delivering reliable information to more people.” This speaker, uniting history with technology, stands as a testament to TOA’s enduring mission and passion for audio excellence.

The Immigration Headquarters has officially relocated to Po Yap Road, Tseung Kwan O in as of June 2024!

The total construction area of the facility is approximately 140,000 square meters. It consists of a 17-story administrative building with south and north wings, a 16-story law enforcement building, and a basement parking lot.

With the arrival of summer, Japan's iconic fireworks festivals are back in full swing!

One of the most famous is the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, which attracts around 300,000 people.

What made this event extra special? TOA's horn array speakers were used to guide the crowd by announcements and provide the musical accompaniment during the dazzling fireworks display.
