蓮花座上的佛背
The back of the Buddha on a lotus throne

蓮花座，是寺院裏佛像以蓮花爲寶座的名稱。據傳釋迦牟尼和觀士音菩薩頗愛蓮花，用蓮花爲座，自此所有寺院裏的佛像都是以蓮花爲寶座，稱之爲蓮花座。佛陀在蓮花座的背影，顯得很莊嚴，清淨自在，安詳無比。

Buddhas and bodhisattvas as well as the other major deities are typically depicted either seated or standing on a lotus in full bloom. Because these deities are considered enlightened beings, the lotus throne symbolises their divine manifestation and perfected spiritual state.

佛教相信蓮花的『出淤泥而不染』，象徵了一種由煩惱至清淨的智慧；蓮花開於盛夏池中，也有一種於煩躁中帶來清涼境界的美德，蓮花代表了一種清涼、高潔的智慧。佛家中『佛手』的意象不僅是佛祖真身的象徵，而且還有指點迷津、抓取福氣之意。用這樣的佛手去拈一朵禪意悠悠的蓮花，正有一種『拾取佛法智慧、常持清明在心』的文化內涵，這便是佛教中佛手蓮花的寓意。

The Buddha holds an open lotus flower in his hand - the lotus is the symbol of purity. As the lotus flower emerges from the mud but remains untouched by it, the Buddha rises pure and untouched by the negative aspects of the world and achieves enlightenment.

感謝有線電視《家國天下》早前訪問我們的掐絲琺瑯藝術導師成影翠，介紹次成諾布大師的獨特掐絲唐卡藝術。

【有線新聞】銅胎掐絲琺瑯又名景泰藍，融合多種技藝，製作步驟繁複，用料上乘，是中國古代皇家的專用之物。唐卡則是藏族文化中獨特的宗教卷軸畫藝術。藏族藝術家次成諾布把唐卡和簡化的掐絲琺瑯技藝融合，成為掐絲琺瑯唐卡畫。來自香港的Debby學習了這種技法，並教授大眾，將兩種傳統技藝，用新方式賦予新意義。

法螺又稱寶螺、金剛螺、法蠡。因其聲徹遠方，故於寺院中作為召集僧眾的法器，至今沿用不衰。尤其是藏傳佛教寺院，僧舍遠近錯落，用法螺召集僧眾，聲聞數里，平時亦使用於法會。此外，佛教中多用右旋白螺，是為希有奇寶，喻正法殊勝難得、純淨之意。《法華經‧序品》云：「今佛世尊欲說大法，雨大法雨，吹大法螺……」以吹法螺之音聲悠揚遠播，來比喻佛陀法音宣流──佛說法之妙音圓通無礙，廣被大眾，遐邇皆聞；眾生聞已，隨根信解，能滅重罪或生善道。

感謝 TVB 兒童節目 Hands Up 早前邀請我們上節目介紹掐絲琺瑯工藝，小朋友都很雀躍呢！歡迎大朋友和小朋友前來體驗這項非物質文化遺產～先以金絲勾勒線條，再以琺瑯釉料點藍（上色），最後以藏族傳統唐卡天然礦物顏料彩繪。

【景泰藍掐絲琺瑯工作坊】

景泰藍的歷史可追溯至公元前3000年於中東、西亞地區(古埃及文明)出現於珠寶首飾製作，於古羅馬帝國時期盛行，並傳至歐洲各地。元朝忽必烈西征時，從西亞、阿拉伯一帶把景泰藍工藝傳入中國，盛行於明朝景泰年間(公元1450-1457年)，因而得其名”景泰藍“，2006年更被列入第一批中國國家級非物質文化遺產名錄。

【Cloisonne Art Workshop @ Singapore】

Learn about the intangible cultural heritage and create your own modern Cloisonne artwork / coaster!

Date: 20-24 March 2024
Duration: 2-4 hours
Price: SGD100-150
Opening Hours: 10:00-21:00
(Early closing on 24th at 19:00)

Eligibility: Adults or children age 8 or above

Create designs with enamel placed within enclosures made of golden aluminium wires, which have been bent and glued into the desired graphic. The coloured enamel powder is then mixed with dissolvable glue, and painted into the contained areas of the design.
