Exciting Times Ahead for Hong Kong's Aviation Industry! 🛫

The launch of the new Three-Runway System at our Hong Kong International Airport is set to boost flight handling capacity by an impressive 50%! 💪 However, this also means the industry is facing a surge in manpower needs across diverse roles - from ground handling to aircraft maintenance, and beyond.

To address this growing demand, the Airport Authority Hong Kong is hosting a Youth Aviation Career Fair on 13-14 June. Over 30 companies will be on site offering a whopping 2,000+ job vacancies! This is a fantastic opportunity for young job seekers, as well as non-Chinese speakers, to kickstart an exciting career in this dynamic sector.

One shining example is Muhammedh, a participant of our PIONEER PROGRAMME. After moving to Hong Kong in 2022, he faced challenges securing aviation roles initially. But with the guidance and training provided by our programme, he was able to successfully land a Aircraft Maintenance Technician Trainee position at HAECO.

"The Three-Runway System will further strengthen Hong Kong's status as a regional aviation hub, providing even more opportunities for those aspiring to join the industry," Muhammedh shared.

This is just the beginning! As the aviation industry roars back, the PIONEER PROGRAMME is dedicated to empowering diverse communities and matching top talent to these sought-after roles.

With the opening of the imminent Three-runway System, the airport community will offer more job opportunities for youth who are interested in the aviation industry. While this industry seems mysterious to some people, Airport Authority Hong Kong has launched the Extra Mile project to offer various programmes that provide participants with experiential opportunities, so as to attract more young people to join the field. 🧆🍲🌯Today was a rewarding day as our PIONEER PROGRAMME hosted a vibrant cultural workshop at the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Our goal was to introduce the diverse culinary traditions of South Asia through an interactive "lunch and learn" session.

We provided an overview of the region's historical influences, showcased iconic dishes, and immersed attendees in authentic dining customs. The communal experience of savoring South Asian flavors facilitated engaging discussions and new connections.

Initiatives that foster cross-cultural understanding through the universal language of food are so valuable. We're grateful to the Airport Authority for welcoming us, and look forward to more exciting PIONEER PROGRAMME events empowering diverse communities in Hong Kong.
