Like this post if you love dim sum, or what locals call yum cha? 👍 We especially like “har gow” or shrimp dumplings. The wrappers need to be just thick enough to hold everything together. The shrimp and other filling ingredients must be fresh. Which other types of dim sum do you like?

What an opportunity we had with famous chef and founder of Australasia’s largest Asian cooking school, Sachie Nomura. As part of a new season of her TV series, Sachie's Kitchen TV, our Chief Foodie, Cecilia Leung, spent an evening with Sachie experiencing Hong Kong’s quintessential Dai Pai D**g (literally translated as ‘big license stalls’) culture. See what Sachie and Cecilia discuss about dai pai d**g as they savor a scrumptious meal with seafood, stir fry and, of course, some beer there. The Hong Kong episode of Sachie’s Kitchen airs today!. Tune in to https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/350313421/watch-sachies-kitchen-would-you-eat-jelly-black-preserved-century-egg! This is currently only available in NZ but will be aired in Australia ans other parts of the world, as well as on flights on Air New Zealand later this year! Magnetic Pictures

Once in a while, we indulge in the steamed egg pudding dessert and the scrambled eggs at Australia Dairy Company in Jordan. Yum. We didn’t have the macaroni in soup this time but we urge you to try it if you’re there! Have you been here? What’s your favorite thing to eat here?

04/06/2024

We are excited to be part of Sachie’s Kitchen! In this fabulous food and travel show’s latest series featuring New Zealand and Hong Kong, chef, successful business owner and TV personality Sachie Nomura talks with our Founder and Chief Foodie Officer, Cecilia Leung, about Hong Kong's Dai Pai D**g (big license stalls). Together they savor a scrumptious meal there. It’s a quintessential Hong Kong foodie experience.

The show's new series launches today on stuff.co.nz. The episode on Hong Kong will air on June 18. Stay tuned for more info!

Camera eats first? Our Foodie participants love to capture all the scrumptious tastings on our Foodie Tour but sometimes we just want to dive straight in to these ping-pong sized wontons, slurp down the al dente noodles and sip the sweet tasting, slow-cooked broth! Yum! Who wants to join us on our Central & Sheung Wan Foodie Tour? 🙋‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️

Our Story

Started by passionate Hong Kong Foodies, our mission is to take hungry souls from around the world on a quest for the best local food that Hong Kong has to offer. Each Foodie Tour is the product of countless hours of research, spent wandering off the beaten path to follow our noses and taste buds. We have tried and tested dozens of restaurants in each neighborhood, sampled dishes, and quizzed restaurant owners, to put together itineraries that showcase locals’ most-loved foods. You’ll get to savor everything from dim sum to egg tarts, roast meat to wonton noodles, Chinese dessert to local seafood.
