I am thrilled to conduct my first tour for my beloved tourists today! This is my first tour since I acquired my guide license. As a trip planner, I’ve added a bit of character to their standard island tour.
At Victoria Peak, instead of just listing the iconic buildings like a bored tour guide, I stumbled upon the ultimate snapshot spot for my guests and their fancy long lenses. I dived into the intriguing feng shui setup of the surrounding banks, explaining how their placements reflect prosperity and harmony. It’s like watching a high-stakes game of chess—each bank supports its neighbours while plotting its defence. Honestly, it felt like a silent war where everyone was trying to outmanoeuvre each other while keeping a smile on their faces. Who knew finance could be so dramatic?
I also showed them my dream house - King Yin Lee
Next, we ventured to Repulse Bay. Among the majestic lions and colourful statues, I brought feng shui to life, illustrating how the landscape and architecture harmonize perfectly. I pointed out the fascinating differences in the stories told on the plaques. The English version spins a tale of a Chinese lady heroically guiding lost soldiers from Tai Tam back to their barracks in Stanley, skillfully navigating the picturesque Repulse Bay. Meanwhile, the Chinese version leaves a lot to the imagination—it's like a cliffhanger that never gets resolved!
We then made a quick detour to Ap Lei Chau, where I showcased some stunning mural and shuttle art. After that, we hopped on the Kai Do ferry to Aberdeen, fully embracing our inner locals. Who needs tourist traps when you can ride a ferry like a true Hong Konger?
After our adventure in Aberdeen, we headed to the Golden Bauhinia. Standing on the Hong Kong promenade, we gazed at the stunning skyline of Hong Kong Island. Everyone agreed that the view from Kowloon was an absolute showstopper, with the buildings dramatically rising against the backdrop. It was like a postcard come to life!
We wrapped up our tour at HSBC, where one guest gleefully thanked me for bringing her to the headquarters. “I work for them in London!” she exclaimed as if I’d revealed the universe's secret.
As I waved them off, I encouraged them to hop on the famous "ding ding" tram. “Follow the tracks to North Point and back to Sheung Wan before you hit the nightlife in Lan Kwai Fong!” I called out, hoping they’d take my advice and enjoy the ride. After all, what’s a trip to Hong Kong without a little adventure?
So, if Hong Kong is on your travel list, don’t hesitate to reach out! Let’s turn your visit into an adventure filled with laughter, learning, and surprises. I promise you won’t just see the city—you’ll experience it!
