Una deliciosa barra de chocolate de 7.2 metros de largo fue elaborada durante el III Festival del Cacao en Copan Ruinas

A 7.2 meter long chocolate bar was made in Copan Ruinas by XOL Chocolate, possibly establishing a Central American record. This endeavor was part of the activities of the III Cacao Festival. The deliciously enormous bar was later shared by all the attendees. Cacao farming and artisan chocolate production have been part of Honduras since pre-hispanic times (when the area was dominated by the Mayan civilization, before it was even a country). Today, cacao is still grown in many parts of the country including: Cortes, Atlantida, Santa Barbara and Copan. Chocolate bars are produced by artisanal and specialty confectioners in La Entrada Copan, Copan Ruinas, La Ceiba, Rio Cangrejal, Marcala and San Pedro Sula.
