Scarlet Macaw - National bird of Honduras. The ancient Mayans thought they flew between Earth and the heavens and honoured them with statues. You can find them free roaming at Gumbalimba Park just a short walk along the beach from Flip Flop Villa Roatán.

Staying at Flip Flop Villa was our delight vacation. Spotlessly clean, well decorated, in the kitchen is everything what you need to prepare you meal. Surrounded by beautiful forest, very well design landscape, quiet neighbourhood, short distance to the beach with many attractions. Restaurants, snorkeling, diving, walking on a beautiful white sandy beach. Stunning sunsets every night different. Grateful for all resources from the owners of Flip Flop Villa to discover the Island. Lots of knowledge of the Island, you won't be lost, lots to see and lots to do. That was our best get away - we had a great time. I would highly recommend this villa any time. Can't wait to come back for longer time!

The Flip Flop Villa is a mellow spot uphill from the beach . It was spotlessly clean, well maintained and well appointed for cooking and chilling out. Beds super comfy. AC good and lots of fans. WiFi fast. The trees and location provide some welcome shade. Manny, the manager was quick to respond to questions and had helpful information.

The neighborhood is quiet and a welcome change from the happenings in West Bay and West end which can be reached in a short water taxi ride or walked in 15-20 min.

The only thing I would bring up is that it is located up on a ridge with a rather steep up and down to get to/from the beach which could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.

Also would recommend you use the driver Manny recommends unless your Spanish is good - uniformly the taxi drivers in Roatan seem to have difficulty finding anything but the most well known locations as there are no addresses.
