1. What are the reasons for this suspension?
a) Due to the prevention measures of COVID-19 instructed by our governmental entities, we are not able to host our complete employee headcount within our current facilities.
b) Financially speaking, we are not able to cover the complete payroll, without impacting the company’s financials severely.
2. Is it applicable to me?
It is applicable to all Startek Honduras employees who we are not able to host at our different workplaces because of governmental restrictions related to COVID-19.
3. What will be covered during this suspension?
a) For employees allowed to work, based on the limitations described above, your worked time will be paid accordingly, meal subsidy will continue until further notice, all benefits related to employment (health, etc), transportation provided by the company and all preventive measures related to COVID-19 will be strictly reinforced at workplace.
b) For employees not able to work because of said restrictions, you will remain an active employee of the company, keeping your tenure, your permanence and benefits provided to you related to health (IHSS and Por Salud), until further notice.
4. What is the duration of this suspension?
120 days since the effective date: Monday April 6, 2020.
5. What if prior to its announcement I had submitted PTO/Holiday time?
Your request will be honored, you are able to take this time off, while getting it paid accordingly.
6. What is the legal basis for this determination?
Se fundamenta la presente suspensión de Contrato Individual de Trabajo en los artículos 99,100, numeral 2 y 101 del Código de Trabajo.
7. What if I have availability to show up to work?
This may be coordinated accordingly with the respective Program Managers, however, we must respect and consider restrictions described above in order to comply with this request.
8. What if this State of Emergency is suspended by the government down the line?
If we are able to resume normal operations, while respecting any preventive measures, we can resume your ability to work as well before the 120 day period is over.
9. What about the possibility of Work from Home?
Startek will let you know directly if there is possibility for you to work from home.
