WELCOME to the island of olives, wine, figs and honey – an oasis just 9 nm away from Split, ideal for sailboat guests, families and all those looking for a stress relief holiday. Island Šolta is only 19 kilometers long, 4.5 kilometers wide and in the very vicinity of the city of Split to which is connected with eight connections daily in the season. Avoid the inland traffic jams on your way to the

crowded beaches and hop on the ferry, chill on the deck and within an hour, arrive to the place where the sea is still crystal clear, beaches are not crowded and the prices are still fair and affordable. After swimming, while you are still in the summer mood – relaxed, tanned and salty, we recommend visiting our house holding farms both on coast and inland where you can see how the oil, wine or honey is made and produced. Having a glass of Dobričić, an original sort that can nowadays only be found on Šolta, served in an authentic ‘’konoba’’, with bites of olive pate or salted anchovies in an award winning olive oil should sound interesting. Looking for more adrenalin? This year we finished a dramatic free climbing rock on the south side of the island just above the sea. South side of the island hides plenty of bays and inlets that you cannot reach by car and some of them hide the best places to eat fresh and homemade meals you will not easily forget. Some of these spots are already marked in the charts of the sailing boats that usually spend the nights in Maslinica or Stomorska. In these two places you can find safe berths and good conditions for sailors, Maslinica having a brand new marina and Stomorska offering berths in the center of the village. Tourist offices and DMC travel agencies in Stomorska, Nečujam, Rogač and Maslinica are at your disposal for any inquiries, promo materials or suggestions…or simply wi-fi. Tko je Ćuvita?

Ćuvita, kako je Šoltani zovu, nije samo mali ćuk – to je mala, ali moćna zaštitnica otoka! Za Šoltane, ona je simbol mudrosti i sigurnosti. Njezino "ću-ću" ispunjava noć i daje do znanja da je sve pod kontrolom.

Nekada su Šoltane pogrdno zvali "ćuvitari." Danas? Danas su ponosni na to ime! Biti "ćuvitar" znači biti pravi čuvar otoka, baš kao i naša ćuvita.

Zato smo utrku "Uvati ćuvitu" posvetili ovoj simpatičnoj maloj sovici.

Ćuvita, as the locals call her, is more than just a little owl – she's the small but mighty guardian of the island! To the people of Šolta, she’s a symbol of wisdom and safety. Her "ću-ću" fills the night, letting you know everything’s in check.

Once, "ćuvitari" was a mock name for the people of Šolta. Today? They wear it with pride! Being a "ćuvitar" means being a true island guardian, just like our beloved ćuvita.

That's why we dedicated the "Uvati ćuvitu" race to this charming little owl.
