Finally, the restoration of the Kupari tourist resort begins today, after being completely destroyed during the war just over three decades ago and subsequently looted and devastated. With this, Kupari will no longer be a destination for "dark tourism," and I hope brighter days are ahead.

I want to thank all my guests who joined me on guided tours in Kupari. Although we spoke about tragic events, I hope it was a valuable experience for them.

For me, it was never just an ordinary tour but a journey through various emotions. Among many memories, I’ll always cherish my participation in the National Geographic feature and the numerous precious encounters with people from all over the world. I hope to meet some of you again on another tour in the wider Dubrovnik area or perhaps in a few years in the restored Kupari, where we can reminisce about the days we walked through the ruins of the destroyed hotels.

This season was marked by numerous storytelling events. It all began in the spring in an old mill in Mlini during the "Župski Pjat" festival.
From there, we moved to Cavtat, with the support of the Cavtat-Konavle Tourist Board—starting at Hotel Croatia, then transitioning to the garden in front, and later returning to the hotel.
To commemorate the Day of Župa Dubrovačka Municipality, a storytelling event was held at the historic ruins of the Bettera summer residence.
In June, "Dark Times – Bright Souls" kicked off near Saint Roch Church in Mlini, organized by the Tourist Board of Župa Dubrovačka.
Later in the summer, as restoration work on the church resumed, the event moved under the plane tree. The season concluded in the Dubrovnik City Library as part of the Croatian Book Month celebrations.
I can’t wait to see what similar events the next year will bring!

Ston and Mali Ston are truly special places in the Dubrovnik region, recognized mainly for three reasons: their four-thousand-year tradition of salt production, the incredible walls surrounding them— one of the longest fortifications in Europe and the oysters and mussels (and thus excellent restaurants). Salt is still produced in Ston today in the same way as in ancient times, thanks to the sea, sun, and wind. Salt was so important to the Dubrovnik Republic that it provided one-third of the state’s total revenue. Besides all this, Ston is the gateway to the Pelješac Peninsula, one of Croatia’s most significant wine regions.

If you ask me (you didn’t, but I’ll tell you anyway😊), for me the most beautiful city in the world is Dubrovnik, the most charming little town is Cavtat, and the most picturesque place is Mlini. That’s why I’m always thrilled when I get the chance to introduce my guests to this hidden gem.

Today, I noticed a seagull choosing the top of the Dominican Monastery's bell tower in Dubrovnik to rest for a few minutes (or perhaps it found that spot fitting for contemplating life or something...). Either way, this scene reminded me of one of the most famous Croatian songs performed by one of the most renowned Croatian singers. The song is called *Galeb i ja* (The Seagull and I) and the singer is, of course, Oliver Dragojević.

AR Atelier - A very beautiful and interesting place in Konavle, run by academic painter Antonia Rusković Radonić. During her lecture, you can hear many fascinating stories about the Konavle embroidery and traditional folk costumes, with a special emphasis on the centuries-old tradition of silk production in this region.

Serious stories, chill vibes! "Dark Times Bright Souls" in Mlini is where deep thoughts meet great company.
Who knew heavy topics could be so uplifting?
Starting this Tuesday, storytelling begins at 6 PM and will stay that way until the end of October. As always, entry is free for all visitors.
P.S. Since it's gotten a bit cooler, don't forget to bring long sleeves, just in case.

It's hard for our dear guests who visit Dubrovnik during the peak of the tourist season to imagine what the city looks like in winter without tourists. Here are a few photos from January this year.

I am grateful to my dear guests for all our shared moments. As the saying goes:"The best marketing is happy customers."
