Did you know about Blaca? The hermitage of Blaca is a unique monument on the Croatian coast. The hermitage of the Glagolitic Order (Glagoljica – Croatian ancient alphabet) was raised on a cliff. Glagolitic priests established Blaca from Poljica that fled to the island of Brac, running away from the Turks.

When in Bol, you can also visit the Blue cave on the island of Biševo. Biševo island is a small and uninhabited island near the island of Vis, but it hides one of Croatia’s best natural beauty spots – the breathtaking Blue cave Croatia. Like most sea caves, this one was also formed by the action of sea waves that eroded the limestone rock over time. They have created a small entrance, only 2.5 meters wide and 1.5 meters high, making the entry into the cave exciting with a pinch of adventure-like feeling. But then, once you “step” inside, there is a whole other world – something like the Narnia closet, just a summer version of it.

Did you know the mountain above Bol, Vidova Gora (St. Vid mountain), is the highest among the Adriatic islands? It features a breathtaking view of Bol and all the neighbouring islands (Hvar, Vis, Korčula...). You can reach it by hiking from Bol (under 2 hours for inexperienced hikers) or by car (40-minute drive). Besides the stunning views, the Vidova Gora mountain gives Bol a specific sunny and dry microclimate, and also, daily afternoon thermic wind Mistral, ideal for windsurfing and kiteboarding.
