Dear lovers of Istria and the hilltop towns! If you visit Motovun, you will surely hear about the story of the giant named Veli Jože! "Veli Jože" is a famous Croatian novel written by Vladimir Nazor. Many times you are asking our tour guides if there is an English version of it, so here it is now!
We are very pleased to inform that from now on you can read this short story "Veli Joze" also in English, which is available on Amazon! We are glad that there are enthusiastic translators and fellow tour guides as .ogulintales who help, that this e-book has seen the light of day!
This English translation was made using the original unedited 1908 version, and includes the supernatural elements, as well as the original illustrations. Also included is Nazor’s personal account of how he created the character of Veli Jože based on his experiences of Istrian life during the first years of the 20th century.
