The Blue Cave geomorphological natural wonder on the Croatian Adriatic.

A hypnotizing silver-blue light illuminates the space inside the cave when the sunlight hits the surface of the ocean through a crack or vault (natural opening) on its arched roof and reflects off the seabed.Over a period of time, the ocean waves eroded the limestone rock to form the Blue Cave. The cave is pretty tiny (24 m long, about 10 to 12 m deep, and around 15 m high) with a narrow entrance (1.5 m high and 2.5 m wide).

PANORAMA OF THE CITY WALLS OF DUBROVNIK

Friends, today we will tell you a little about the history of the Walls of Dubrovnik.🇭🇷

Stark white against the azure of the Adriatic and a cloudless sky, they are also as captivatingly beautiful as the day there were first broached, by Napoleon himself, in 1806.

The Walls of Dubrovnik (Croatian: Dubrovačke gradske zidine) are a series of defensive stone walls surrounding the city of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia.

The construction of the first limestone fortifications around the city began in the early Middle Ages, at the end of the 8th century. By the 13th century, fortifications had acquired outlines more similar to modern walls. Thus, according to the plan of 1292, the entire city was surrounded by walls, with the exception of the monastery, which came under the protection of Dubrovnik later, in the 14th century.

Then, in general, the walls took on a modern look. The complex includes Mincheta tower, Bokar fort, Revelin and Lovrenats fortresses and other fortifications. The skill of the Dubrovnik fortifiers is evidenced by the fact that the walls calmly endured the great earthquake of 1667.
