Adventure Dubrovnik s ponosom objavljuje da je prepoznat u Tripadvisor® Choice Awards Best of the Best u kategoriji ‘Things to Do’ za 2024. godinu. Adventure Dubrovnik izlet kajakom i ronjenje s maskom osvojio je 16. mjesto u kategoriji najboljih “Vodenih sportova” u svijetu. Nijedna druga europska tvrtka za kajakarenje nije osvojila mjesto u svjetskoj kategoriji nagrada. Time se Adventure Dubrovnik ponovno pozicionira kao broj jedan u kajak turama i tvrtkama u Hrvatskoj i Europi.

“Tripadvisor je s više od 1,4 milijuna aktivnosti i iskustava glavni izvor za putnike koji žele otkriti i rezervirati svoju sljedeću avanturu, bez obzira što za njih znači ‘avantura'”, kaže Kristen Dalton, predsjednica Tripadvisora. “Iskustva čine putovanje, a naše Best of the Best Things to Do nagrade n**e neke od najviše ocijenjenih aktivnosti iz cijelog svijeta, istaknute od strane naše zajednice putnika. Bilo da ste ljubitelj uzbuđenja ili lagani istraživač, oznaka ‘Best of the Best’ ima odobrenje globalnih putnika kao izvor inspiracije za nezaboravan odmor.”

Nagrade Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Things to Do za 2024. godinu određuju se na temelju kvalitete i kvantitete recenzija i ocjena putnika objavljenih na Tripadvisoru tijekom 12-mjesečnog razdoblja između 1. travnja 2023. i 31. ožujka 2024.

“Adventure Dubrovnik je istinski počašćen što je ponovno dobio željeno mjesto među najboljim svjetskim iskustvima. Adventure Dubrovnik is thrilled to announce that for the third straight year our Dubrovnik Sea Kayaking and Snorkeling tour has been selected by Tripadvisor as the winner of the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice™ Best of the Best Awards. The awards celebrate the top 25 best tours worldwide and by geographic region as ranked by “over one billion reviews and opinions from real, global travelers.”

The rankings also recognize 11 specially-themed subcategories ranging from “Cultural Tours” to “Snorkeling and Water Sports” to “Food Experiences.” For 2022, Adventure Dubrovnik has won awards in 4 categories including:

Top Overall Experiences - World (where we ranked 18th)
Top Overall Experiences - Europe (where we ranked 9th)
Top Overall Experience - Croatia (where we ranked 1st)
Top Snorkeling & Water Sports - World (where we ranked 3rd)

Adventure Dubrovnik is pleased to announce that for the second year in a row our Dubrovnik Sea Kayaking and Snorkeling tours have been selected by Tripadvisor as winners of the 2021 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice™ Best of the Best Awards in the categories of:

Top Overall Experiences - Europe (where we ranked 12th)
Top Water Adventures - World (where we ranked 14th)

Our tour has been positioned as the best Kayaking tour amongst all other kayaking tours in Europe. After winning the Best of the Best awards last year we didn’t believe it was possible to win again. It’s a great honor.

Tripadvisor is the world’s largest online travel site with nearly to 400,000 experiences competing in its offer. The Tripadvisor Best of the Best awards are one of the industry’s most prestigious honors.

The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the global travel industry over the past two years to such a degree that we’re completely and pleasantly surprised by this year’s win; especially since we’d had a decreased number of guests visiting Dubrovnik due to lockdown measures in Croatia. To find out that we’ve been competing not only against 250,000 other global experience like last year, but nearly 400,000 global experiences is both surreal and humbling. Especially knowing that many of the winning experiences are in locations that were late in implementing lockdown measures. We simply didn’t believe we would win.

The recent pandemic has hit all of us in Dubrovnik quite hard. We’re thankful that Dubrovnik city authorities have managed to reasonably minimize the severity of the local outbreaks. Our entire team is overjoyed to see the fruits of our labors showcased on a global scale once again, and delighted to be able to continue to share our beautiful destination with visitors to Croatia.

"The Year Without a Summer"

On April 10th, 1815 Mount Tambora violently erupted causing climate disruptions so severe that to this day 1816 is widely known as "The Year Without a Summer."

204 years later, circa November of 2019 a virulent strain of coronavirus emerged, decimating businesses worldwide and forcing a significant percentage of the the world population to stay home and self-isolate.

Although the circumstances differ, for many people 2020 is now shaping up to be another "Year Without a Summer."

If you are in a country impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we urge you to self-isolate.

The circumstances of 1816 inspired Mary Shelley to write her gothic masterpiece "Frankenstein." Do reach out let us know what creative endeavors you've undertaken to pass the time.

This is actually incorrect. Although the word "quarantine" is derived from the Venetian dialect, the first actual "quarantines" (as we know them) were in fact implemented in Ragusa (modern day Dubrovnik, Croatia) in 1377. Ragusa was an independent republic and not part of the Republic of Venice.

The quarantine compound still exists. It's called Lazareti and is open to visitors. It is one of the last remaining lazarets in Europe.
