The walk home from the olives after a busy day trimming and attacking the jungle…. Many or most think it is peculiar for me to be alone up here, but the tourist season is fast and furious and very much about being switched on - so this solitude is just fine by me! I learned to love working on the land in Canada at my father’s ranch and its never left me - and its pretty easy in such a beautiful place - days are short and I am like a chicken. :)

We were a crazy group of mushroom hunters yesterday in the Durmitor, Montenegro forest. I have never seen so many mushrooms, and Ive learned a few new varieties. This is a giant porcini mushroom!

Oh the wonder of nature, olive trees, and Dalmatia in the autumn! The season that Croatia captured my heart. It is olive harvest time - not the best year for my patch , but who cares- its such a lovely time and way to wind fown and say goodbye to the work of the summer season. 🍃

Well I thiiiink the last piknik went out this morning! A road trip feast too for guests heading to Plitvice lakes. The Olives are waiting for us! Another season in the can - with usual hijinx. Memorable moments: A lovely veggie spread I made for a vegetarian request only to be told it was too many vegetables:) . Making a piknik out of the back of my car… for a last minute proposal. And the giant piknik for the Finns! Many succesful proposals too! Thank you all - here we come masline.

Exploring with my friend who loves stone and sculpture - we took a wander through Boninovo cemetary which I always find fascinating from both a visual and historical perspective. In the next weeks families will visit and the cemetaries throughput the country will fill with candles and flowers.

Showing a dear friend around inspires other routes so we popped inland to BIH and seeing as we did not have time for Plitvice lakes we headed to Kravice waterfalls.

Hahaha ! Someone funnnny - on a true backroad on the fringes of bosnia and croatia border put GOOGLY EYES on the wikd boar roadside sign. Made our day !
