Korcula is a walker’s paradise, offering a variety of scenic trails for all fitness levels.

Whether it’s a coastal walk or a hike through the island’s vineyards, the unspoiled nature and breathtaking views will leave you mesmerised.

One of our favourites is the trail to the nature park of Kocje in Zrnovo, where you’ll find fascinating rock formations and maybe a fairy!

Where can you swim on Korcula?

In short—anywhere you see the sea! The water clarity around Korcula is exceptional, making nearly every bay and beach a great place to take a dip.

The island’s most stunning beaches (in our opinion) are more remote and reachable by driven transport only or for the active traveller, by bike.

The most popular beaches and those located close to the centre of a town or village can be reached by public transport and foot, such as the sandy beaches in Lumbarda or Vaja in the village of Racisce.

The bus route connects the main towns & villages on the island and the full timetables can be seen on the Arriva website.

🌅 Hello 2025!

Another year of adventures has flown by, and we’re so excited for what’s ahead!

We're currently enjoying some Winter Fun in Austria, but are equally enjoying returning to Korcula! It's like we get to 'go back' on holiday, after finishing a holiday.

And now, we’re gearing up for another epic year. It’s going to be a fantastic one!

The final highlight of our year was all the other lovely places in Croatia we got to visit including Tucepi, Lastovo Island and Mlini. All wonderful destinations.

Next up on the 2024 highlight list is the blue, blue sea! We didn't get to so many different beaches this year - must be on the plan for 2025; revisit some favourites and explore some new ones.

We've seen a lot of weather this year.

Tons of sun, a fair amount of rain (even including some localised flooding), thunderstorms, rainbows, strong winds, cloudy skies and even a sea tornado! I'm just waiting for some snow...which probably isn't that likely, but you never know!

Our 4th highlight of the year was enjoying all the stunning views and peaceful nature during various walks and bike rides around Korcula Island.

I love the sea, but I also adore the countryside and rural parts of the island.

Another huge highlight of the year, of course, is all the fantastic local produce and wine tours we ran.

We met so many awesome people. Pedalled many kilometres, with plenty of encouragement to get people to the end! Sipped delicious wine and nibbled on tasty bites. Ate a lot of pancakes! Another epic tour season!

Korcula Diary Entry...

So we did get some rain! It was actually a full day of rain with lots of wind. But then, thankfully, it returned to the sun, although the temperature is now cooler.

We took a lovely stroll up to the Fort above Korcula Town and around the Old Town.

'Life on Korcula' diary event....

Cabbage!

This epic cabbage grows everywhere. Sometimes it almost looks like little trees, like the ones here.

I'm not a big fan of the cabbage smell that can linger in the air after the rain! But it's a nostalgic reminder of my Nan's house on a Sunday afternoon. She'd start cooking the cabbage in the morning, to be ready for lunch! 🤣

'Life on Korcula' diary entry...

Bike riding from Korcula to Lumbarda along Donje Blato, stopping for cake and coffee at Skatula Cafe, before looping around Gornje Blato and heading home. The goat was particularly interested in us - usually, she ignores us!

Banja Beach in Korcula Town.

A popular place to swim in the summer for locals and visitors. Only the hardiest souls are still swimming, but there are a brave few!

I enjoy the short coastal walk passing the Liburna Hotel, especially in the glorious Autumn sun.

We moved to Korcula from the UK in 2010 after falling in love with the island after several previous visits. Over the years we have grown a successful travel company, which we are very proud of. The company has changed with the needs of travellers to Korcula and we love every moment of what we do.

Since 2013 we have been running tours on Korcula to share authentic experiences of the island with visitors. Our tours immerse people into the local wine, beer & food producing culture. The experiences are informative but most importantly fun with plentiful tastings and intimate group sizes.
