Sirnica, also called Pinca in some parts of the country, is a traditional Easter sweet bread. Initially a Dalmatian tradition, it has spread and is popular all over Croatia today.
We are preparing it on a traditional way, using homemade rose brandy.

How it all started?

In 2007 our parents bought this property with a huge garden and an unfinished one-level building from a man known as “Kare” (a family nickname). We soon became really fond of this piece of land and started calling it Karisima (carissima = my dearest, Kare = karisima). For the first few years, our parents were growing a garden with organic fruit and vegetables here. Once my sister and I graduated from university and got our first jobs, we decided to start a family business.
In the first year we refurbished the ground floor of Karisima and started hosting guests in the two smaller apartments, Ivana and Marina. In two years’ time we built the first floor and turned it into a big apartment, Tajana. Soon our family business picked up and has been growing year in, year out. This finally led to us finishing the whole house by adding a brand new attic apartment – the one with the best view, our big apartment Ive.
Hundreds of our happy guests keep us going and growing, and they continue to inspire some new ideas on how to make Karisima a true household name on the tourist map of Korčula. We hope to welcome many more happy guests in the many years to come!
