Garden also features grill/barbecue area. Villa Klementina is located in the old town section of Metkovic, one of the most important port towns in the Austro-Hungarian empire. Today, the Neretva River, which has a walkway and bike path, is mainly used for leisurely activities such as rowing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, diving, swimming, and more. The area is known gastronomically for its frog and eel, which are local delicacies. There is a bike rental station through NextBike in the middle of town. Local attractions include the Narona Archaeological Museum in Vid, which is an "in-situ" museum atop a 400 B.C. Roman temple to Augustus, just 4 kilometers/2.5 away. Metkovic also has a Natural History Museum, which features exhibits of the varied wildlife in the river, and also the river delta. The river delta, which is 20 kilometers/12 miles away, is home to more than 300 species of birds throughout the year, as it is an important stop during their migration. BETSA, the southern Adriatic bird-watching association, built an impressive bird-watching area overlooking the wetlands, where bird enthusiasts are sure to be pleased. Other nearby attractions:
