Ancient heritage of Vis :)

The head of the ancient Greek bronze statue of goddess Artemis,unearthed at island Vis in coastal Croatia.

Head was part of a bronze statue about 150 cm high, and depicts a young woman with an idealized appearance what, along with a tiara in her hair, confirms that she is a goddess. The expression of the face and the shape of the head indicate sculptural elements based on Praksitel's tradition. The head of the goddess from Vis is an original Greek work from the end of the 4th century BC. or the beginning of the 3rd century BC. Kr. and was part of a ritual statue.
