🌿 CIRCOLIVE Info day in Poreč, Croatia - A Successful Event!
On September 23rd, 2024, the CIRCOLIVE Info Day was held in a hybrid format at the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism in Poreč, Croatia and online, bringing together experts from the olive sector, vocational education providers, and stakeholders in education, agriculture, and employment.
The event kicked off at 12:00 with opening speeches from Dean Ban, Director of the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism, Karolina Brkić Bubola, Circolive project leader in Institute of Agriculture and Tourism, and Ezio Pinzan, Head of the Administrative Department for Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting, Fisheries, and Water Management of Istria County. Karolina Brkić Bubola presented the project’s activities and expected results, followed by an insightful presentation on the current state of the olive sector in Croatia by Marin Krapac, Ana Čehić Marić, and Marina Lukić, with a special focus on olive by-products and waste.
The event also featured Sandi Chiavalon and Sven Jeličić, key stakeholders in the sector, who shared their sustainable practices for managing olive by-products and waste. To conclude, participants had the unique opportunity to visit the bioreactor system for composting olive pomace at the Institute, presented by project associate Marko Černe.
This Info Day marks the first of many events to come within the CIRCOLIVE project in Croatia, paving the way for knowledge exchange and partnership building towards a more sustainable future in the olive oil sector. 🌱✨
