Graševina (Welschriesling) is considered among the most popular croatian wines. Originaly from Middle Europe, in Croatia it was cultivated for so many centuries that currently is regarded as autochthonous. It is usually served with fresh seafood, soft and light cheese, but serving it with wild spring asparagus (šparoge) makes that combination really perfect. Enjoy:)

Due to very high content of ferrum compounds, mostly oxyds, Croatian land in region of Istria has sort of unreal red-brown colour. That’s why local wild asparagus (cro – šparoge), has unbelievably unique taste with a spicy bitterness. It takes time and efforts to collect a bunch of it in the wilderness but result is well beyond expectations). To me, it discovers its full taste with glass of local white wine Graševina. More about it in our next publications. Stay tuned :)
