Joseph & Mary - an island Brač love story...

Many islanders on Brač traditionally have small stone cottages as sheds on their farms outside the settlements. Today people often use it as their remote weekend or holiday home. The acquisition or construction of such valuable island cottages is hardly possib

le because of their family tradition and remote island nature areas. Such a cottage is also at the pebble beach in the bay Studena in the southeast of the island of Brač, it belonged to the famous Croatian poet and professor Zlatan Jakšić (1924 - 2007) . In the early 1960s he came with his family and the nanny Marija from the mainland to the summer holidays in his cottage. His friend Josip (Joseph) from his home town of Selca had his farm on the hill above the bay Studena. As Josip fell in love with Marija, he decided to build another house at the sea, from which he paved the way to Zlatan's house and Marija's heart. Because of Josip Marija stayed on the island all her life. The cottage of Joseph & Mary has been transformed in the original style by their son in a comfortable remote island holiday cottage.

GEO is a family of educational monthly magazines similar to the National Geographic magazine. It is known for its detailed reports and pictures.

The first edition appeared in Germany in 1976. Since then, the magazine has been published in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France (first international edition), Greece, Hungary, India (publication ceased in 2013),[1] Italy, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and the United States. The current circulation figure in France and Germany is over 500,000.

The French edition was launched in 1979 and is published monthly by Prisma Presse.[2] The German version has several special editions (line extensions): GEO Saison, a multi thematical magazine dedicated to tourism, GEO Special a mono thematical magazine about individual countries or cities...
