DID YOU KNOW that the world's biggest prosciutto came from Dalmatia?...

Famous prosciutto producer Ante Reljanović holds the Guinness World Record for making the biggest prosciutto ever. After three years of careful curing and drying, he unveiled his 22.5 kg masterpiece in 2016 (post photo).

Dalmatian prosciutto is celebrated worldwide, and its secret lies in the unique climate of the Dalmatian coast, especially the Bura wind. The cold, dry wind from the northeast naturally cures the prosciutto, giving it a rich flavor and perfect texture. This combined with high-quality pork and sea salt, creates the ideal drying conditions in the Drniš region resulting in this deliciously aromatic delicacy.

EASTER DELIGHT IN DALMATIA: Meet Sirnica! 🥖🐰…

In Croatia, Easter isn't complete without indulging in the delicious tradition of Sirnica - a beloved Croatian Easter bread.

This sweet bread is a staple at Easter feasts, especially cherished along the picturesque Croatian coast.

With roots tracing back to the Venetian Republic, Sirnica was once a treat exclusively enjoyed by the affluent. Now each household has its unique spin on the recipe.

Crafted from a dough enriched with farm-fresh eggs, Sirnica boasts a sunny yellow hue, symbolizing the season's renewal.

Typically shaped into balls with a cross cut into the top, reminiscent of Christ's sacrifice, Sirnica graces every Easter table.

About a month before Easter, these golden orbs, adorned with sugar crystals, appear on bakery shelves, in cafes and in the supermarkets, signaling the arrival of the festive season.

For a taste of authentic Sirnica in Split, head to Tradicija Bakery (post photo) the city's go-to destination for this Easter treat, and the oldest pastry shop in town - founded in 1937.
