“Deservedly No. 1”

Huge thanks to Olga for a great tour of Split and the centre of Diocletian's Palace. She was a great guide, very enthusiastic, but also not afraid to touch on sensitive points.

The 11.15 am tour is the one to get because then you are in the right place for roman re-enactment at 12, and to hear the Dalmatian singers.

This is deservedly the top ranked attraction in Split.

“Olga - Europe's best tour guide ”

The title says it all! Olga was simply brilliant. Her enthusiasm for the history of Split and Croatia was great, she interacted well the with group and her love of questions made her very approachable. Excellent walking your! Highly recommended!

“Worth every penny. No pun intended.”

Wow I don't usually go on guided tours so I don't have a lot to compare to but this one definitely surpassed my expectations. Lucija , our tour guide, was amazing. She was knowledgable and spoke in a perfect tone and pace. It shows that she loves what she does. I learnt so much about the history of the palace and she gave us tips for things to do in the city and answered questions on anything we asked her about. I 100% recommend this tour and to those who complain I really don't understand what you would expect more for the price you paid. I was shocked that nobody left her a tip at the end as this is what is expected in free walking tours in North America (in NYC for example a 10-15$ tip is expected). The tour lasted 1h40 and went by very fast. I wish there were more tours like this one

“Split One Penny Walk Tour the Best”

On a very hot, 90 degree day (record for that date) In June, 2014, we braved the One Penny Walking Tour of Split. Despite the weather, our guide Olga did an exceptional job with our tour. Her expertise, personality, and pacing were right on target. She kept us in the shade and did a great job in explaining the history, stories, and visual sites of the walled city within a city. Take this tour, you cannot go wrong!!

“Yes and yes”

Split has so much beauty and history, that we really wanted to learn more about it. We were really glad we picked the 'One penny walking tour'. You pay 7,50 kuna for an 1,5 hour tour and learn about the history of the palace and the town. If you like it, you can tip the guide the amount you want. Our tour guide Danko was nice, his English very good and he was very well informed. I would defenitely recommend to do this tour!

“Lucija & free Split walking tour”

One euro? Really? It was. No pressure to buy other trips, tours or tips. We did tip Lucija because she was so good at what she did. Our group was approximately 20 and we could hear fine. She showed us the highlights of the palace in 90 informative minutes. I hope when (not if) you take the free walking tour that you get Lucija too. Plus, she gives you a discount card for other tours and a card for two free glasses of wine. There is no reason to pay for a Diocletian's Palace tour with another tour operator. Not really a negative but if you want to see a couple of the portions of the palace that has an entry fee you'll have to do it on your own or get a different guide/company. This tour would be best to do on your first day or two in Split. A great overview. Lucija, 305/Diocletian!

Olga was our guide, and she was fantastic. She spoke clearly (and loudly), and constantly encouraged us to ask questions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who had an hour and a half to spare while waiting for a ferry or just as a way to gain an introduction to Split. Well worth it!

“Excellent overview and context”
I think it would be really hard to walk around Diocletian's Palace on your own and get any sense of what you're seeing, so even though I generally prefer to explore places on my own, this is one place I am very glad I joined a walking tour. Lucija was both knowledgeable and entertaining in her narrative, so she made it fun. I appreciated that they limited the size of the tour to a reasonable number of guests, so it was easy to stay together and hear Lucija. The tour lasted 90 minutes, which was a perfect amount of time to get a good context before going back to enter the most interesting attractions. Highly recommended

Olga, our guide from Split, was exceptional. Over the past decade we have had 100's of guides and Olga was a standout. Our tour lasted over 90 minutes because she encouraged questions, had a keen sense of humor and spoke with enthusiasm, knowledge, pride. Clone her and get these tours all over the Adriatic. Oh, I almost forgot, two complimentary wine tasting tickets at a really nice bodega.

“perfect 90' walking tour in Diocletian palace

We knew about the tour in Tripadvisor and it was really worth it to take it. Our guide, Doris, explained us a lot of history about the palace as well as of its surroundings and traditions from Croatia and Split. Really worth it for this price, 1€.

“Superb tour”

You don;t really need to look around and think about which tour you should take.
This is the right one for you. Seeing the top reviews here on Trip Advisor convinsed me to take it and it was a great decision.
Our guide Lucija was fantastic, very knowledgable and she really worked hard not only to communicated to us the history and culture but also to help us remember what she was telling us. Some of the facts (305, venetian 16th century windows and lime stone, do the tour and you will understand) were simply etched in my brain.

The hour and a half tour covered all the areas of the palace and we were given tips about what else to see or not to see during our time there.

Go ahead and do this tour it will really make you look at Split in a different way!

“Best deal in Split
We did the One penny Split walking tour today with our guide Lucija. She was a wonderful guide who is a Split local. Her knowledge was vast and her English excellent. This has to be the best value thing to do in Split. Without the tour we wouldn't have known what we were looking at. Her commentary kept everyone interested and she gave suggestions on what else to do or not do. The history of the palace from its conception in 305ad thru the ages is fascinating.
Please tip on completion. Would highly recommend
