On the way to Krka, we’re preparing delicious Zaton mussels, known as "pidoće," in the traditional Dalmatian style – buzara – fresh from the sea! 🌊
The name of the dish dates back to the time of the Venetians, referring to the pot used on galleys to cook meals for the crew, called “busara” or “buzzara.”
The key to a perfect buzara lies in the short cooking time to preserve the fresh flavor of the mussels. First, the mussels are cleaned and rinsed, then added to a pot where finely chopped garlic and parsley have been sautéed in olive oil. As the mussels begin to open, a splash of white wine is added and allowed to simmer until it evaporates. Finally, breadcrumbs are stirred into the liquid to thicken it, and it’s cooked for just a few more minutes. Serve with fresh bread, and enjoy! 🍽️

This expression is used to describe a state when the sea is exceptionally calm, without waves and wind, creating a sense of complete silence and tranquility. In a figurative sense, “bonaca” can be used to describe peaceful and quiet moments in life, periods without stress and problems💙

Meet INA, a vessel with a royal lineage of names and meanings.

Born in 1988 in Kraljevica, former Yugoslavia, INA is one of the 11 steel ships of the Mirna class, originally a patrol boat for the Adriatic. During the war, she was shrouded in a storm cloud of uncertainty, yet among the convoy, she remembered a wooden ship with special eyes on its bow, named Desto.

Post-war, many military ships faced the scrapyard, but INA was spared. Bought by a trader, she became a supply ship for the oil industry company INA, adopting their name.

Sixteen years later, the family of the ship with the beautiful eyes bought her. They kept her name and changed their company name to Destina, a twist of fate.

INA, a steel ship with nerves of steel, is the fastest and most modern vessel in the central Adriatic, never wanting to be a warship. Her captain is Ante Cukrov Senior, known as Desto, a man of steel nerves, calm and serious.

Meet Dida Frane. We like to say - it's the perfect boat because its light body doesn't produce waves, but only brings peace and joy 😇

It was named after the first captain of the Cukrov family - Frane, who embarked on his captaincy adventure as a young man with just one decrepit wooden boat. During the slower times of the 'salbunar' (sand dredging boat), he used it to extract sand and trade it ⛴️
