If you're wandering through Budapest, take a moment to admire the historic Király Thermal Bath nestled in a charming area, not far from the iconic Buda Castle District.
Originally established in the 16th century during the Ottoman era, the stunning building you see today dates back to the 1800s.
Though it’s been closed since 2020, the pool beneath the dome is still continuously filled with hot water. Without the steam, even more severe damage could occur to the walls, preserving this piece of history for future generations.
When the next renovation will actually begin is still unknown at this time...

The "Grand Budapest" Neighborhood: A New Chapter for the City

Just 2 km behind Heroes’ Square, a massive new district called Grand Budapest is in the works. With plans for skyscrapers as tall as 500 meters, shopping areas, and thousands of new apartments, this project will change the city’s skyline like never before.
What to expect:
A futuristic neighborhood featuring one of Europe’s tallest buildings.
Modern architecture contrasting with Budapest’s historic charm.
A new urban hub near the iconic Heroes’ Square and City Park.
While not everyone is thrilled about how this project is being developed, there’s no doubt it’ll be a significant addition to the city. Whether it becomes a tourist favorite or just an intriguing detour, time will tell...

As we approach January 18th, we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Budapest Ghetto in 1945. Over 70,000 people endured unimaginable suffering in horrific conditions, and tragically, 3,000 unburied victims were found when the ghetto was freed.
On this eve of Shabbat, let us pause to honor their memory and reflect on the resilience of those who survived. May this anniversary remind us of the importance of compassion, justice, and the responsibility to never forget.

The little black tower on Matthias Church in Budapest is called a hussar tower! It got its name because it sits on the roof like a hussar on a horse. Made of wood and covered with elegant oxidized copper, it’s a unique touch to the church’s stunning Gothic architecture.
While the roof is still snowy, the tower remains free of snow:-)
