🚀 Farewell, OWL 🛰️

C3S’s VHF locator and tracker instrument, OWL (Orbital Whereabout Locator), first launched on November 11, 2023, as a piggyback payload aboard EnduroSat’s Platform 5.
This tiny, 150-gram “mini satellite” quickly proved its crucial role in identifying and tracking the CubeSat during the mission — and has been consistently transmitting telemetry data ever since, boasting a flawless operational record of over a year without reset. 🔧✅

Over the past two years, OWL has achieved additional milestones: it participated in the WREN-1 mission, where it continues to perform excellently — further adding to its strong flight heritage. 🌍✨

📅 It is expected that during the early hours of April 18, we will bid farewell to the very first OWL as it re-enters Earth’s atmosphere and completes its remarkable journey.🌠

But for OWL, this was only the beginning — it is set to play a key role not only in C3S’s upcoming satellite missions, but also in forward-looking, innovative space industry projects.

The legacy lives on! 💫

🚀🌟 QPAC a CanSatVersenyen! 🌟🚀

Nagy örömünkre szolgál, hogy cégünk által szponzorált Pannonhalmi Bencés Gimnázium QPAC csapata kiváló eredménnyel szerepelt az idei CanSat Országos Versenyen, ahol 84 csapattal megmérettetve elnyerték a Technikai Díjat! 🏆🎉🏆🎉

A CanSat-verseny egy igazán különleges kihívás, ahol középiskolás diákoknak nemcsak a műholdak világába kell belépniük, hanem a legkisebbekként kell megépíteniük egy valós műholdat. Az alapanyag? Egy üdítős doboz! Ebbe kell beleépíteni minden olyan rendszert, ami egy valódi műholdat működtet – tápegység, szenzorok, kommunikációs rendszer, mindezt egy olyan kicsi térbe, ami még a legnagyobb mérnöki kihívásokat is újraértelmezi.
De hogyan is repül egy üdítős doboz? Nos, egy rakéta segítségével 1 km magasba juttatják, majd egy ejtőernyő gondoskodik arról, hogy biztonságosan visszazuhanjon a földre.

És a 6 fős QPAC csapatunk mindezt olyannyira tökéletesen oldotta meg, hogy elnyerte a Technikai Díjat az innovatív megoldásokért és a precíz munkáért!🌍🚀

Ez az eredmény nemcsak a diákok, hanem mentoraik és természetesen a C3S közös sikerét is jelenti. Köszönjük mindenkinek, aki hozzájárult ehhez a fantasztikus eredményhez! 🌟

🚀 OPS-SAT ORIOLE on ESA website 🌍✨

This groundbreaking mission is set to demonstrate a hybrid optical telecommunication and thermal infrared camera payload on a 12U OPS-SAT satellite. 🚀🌌
The mission aims to push the boundaries of space communication by showcasing full-duplex optical communication from space to ground, with the potential for space-to-space communication in the future.
Plus, it will test a low-power communication protocol and provide Earth observation capabilities through the satellite's optical system.

The project supported by ESA’s ScyLight programme, is a collaboration between C3S LLC, Spaceit OÜ and Golbriak Space OÜ (both from Estonia), and it's all about developing a versatile satellite platform for optical communication and Earth observation services.

🌍🚀 We are in the 9th European Conference on Space Debris!

We’re in Bonn for the 9th European Conference on Space Debris, taking place from April 1st-4th, 2025. This prestigious event, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA), is the largest global forum dedicated to the study and mitigation of space debris. It brings together scientists, engineers, policymakers, and industry experts to engage in critical discussions on space debris research, risk analysis, and innovative mitigation strategies.

🔧 As satellite developers and operators, we understand the importance of addressing the challenges posed by space debris. At the conference, we are proud to present the SAILOR project, an ESA initiative where our company serves as the prime contractor. SAILOR introduces a new large-area detector for in-situ observation of small anthropogenic debris in low Earth orbit. This innovative technology aims to enhance the monitoring and analysis of space debris, contributing to more effective debris management and a safer space environment. 🌌

🛰️ We are also actively involved in two additional projects under the ESA program, focused on enhancing the sustainability and safety of space operations.
