🎭 Discover the Iconic Vígszínház in Budapest! 🇭🇺✨

A cultural gem in the heart of the city, Vígszínház (the 'Comedy Theatre') offers world-class performances in an atmospheric setting. Whether you’re a fan of classic plays or contemporary works, there’s something for everyone!

✨ Why Vígszínház is Special:

🏛Built in just one year in 1896.
Two brilliant architects, Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, brought their vision to life, crafting what would become one of Budapest’s most iconic cultural landmarks. Did you know they designed 47 theaters across Europe, from Vienna to Prague and Odessa?
🎭 Birthplace of Modern Hungarian Theater: Vígszínház played a pivotal role in shaping 20th-century Hungarian drama and performance.
🎶 A Trailblazer for Musical Theater: In the 1970s and 80s, it attracted new audiences with world premieres of Hungarian musicals and contemporary plays.

🌟 Extra for Visitors: Did you know some performances are subtitled in English? 🇬🇧
Catch iconic plays like The Great Gatsby, The Castle, The Seagull, and The Dictator with subtitles! For the best experience, sit in the 10th-20th rows on the ground floor or the first two rows of the balcony for optimal subtitle visibility.

Make your visit to Budapest even more memorable with a night at the Vígszínház! 🎭

🕊️ Gabriel Archangel – A Symbol of Heroes’ Square, Now Temporarily on Display at the City Park Visitor Center!

One of Budapest’s most iconic statues, the Gabriel Archangel at Heroes’ Square, is undergoing a once-in-a-century restoration after 120 years in its place atop the Millennium Monument.

While the original is being carefully renewed, visitors can still admire a life-sized replica in a unique exhibition at the City Park Visitor Center.

🌟 Why is Gabriel Archangel so significant?
Perched at the heart of Heroes’ Square, this majestic figure has symbolized Hungary’s heritage and national pride for over a century. Holding the Holy Crown and Apostolic Cross, Gabriel represents the country’s deep historical roots and its role in shaping Europe’s past.

📍 Where can you see the statue now?
Until the restoration is complete, a full-scale replica is on display in an immersive exhibition, complete with special projections that take visitors on a journey through Budapest’s rich history.

📅 The exhibition is FREE to visit from February 5!
📍 Location: Museum of Ethnography, City Park Visitor Center

Take this rare opportunity to see Gabriel up close and experience the spirit of Heroes’ Square in a whole new way!

🌉 Discover Budapest’s Most Iconic Landmark: The Chain Bridge! 🇭🇺✨

The Chain Bridge (Lánchíd) is not just a bridge—it’s one of Budapest's most famous symbols and a must-see for every visitor! Connecting Buda and Pest, it offers breathtaking views of the Danube River, Buda Castle, and the Parliament building.

🌅 Why Visit?
The Chain Bridge was the first and, for a long time, the longest bridge over the Danube, connecting Pest and Buda. Although it suffered severe damage during World War II, it was rebuilt in the 1950s and now shines in its full glory.
Don’t miss the iconic lion statues at either end—symbols of strength and protection. Did you know? During the bridge’s restoration, the lions were temporarily removed and taken to a restoration workshop, leaving both locals and tourists without this historic detail for a while. In their place, a life-sized LEGO lion was displayed! 🦁
Capture amazing photos with views of the city’s skyline, especially at sunset. 📸
Explore nearby attractions like Castle Hill and Váci Street. 🏰

Make sure to use your Budapest Card for discounts and easy access to public transport while you explore the city! 🚇
