Love watching the sun set and moon rise, especially here at Gili Trawangan because the sunsets are pretty much guaranteed to be spectacular!

East coast Gili T 🚤🌴 •
When deciding which Gili island to visit, ask yourself why you’re going and what you want from your trip as there’s an island for everyone! Gili T is crazy busy, there’s LOTS of people around, tonnes of choice for restaurants and bars, there’s clubs and a good nightlife with lots of tour operators to organise just about anything for you. There’s no roads on any of the islands, but people pay to get around in horse drawn carriages (we didn’t as the horses look really unhealthy and I get the feeling they aren’t cared for very well). You can rent bikes for really cheap and the islands are so small you can get anywhere on foot. •
Gili Air is a toned down version of Gili T. Still a decent variety of restaurants and bars, but it’s possible to find some peace and quiet on a lot of places around the island. The night scene is more beanbags and bonfires on the beach with cocktails (mushroom shakes if that’s your thing 👀) and live music. •
Gili Meno is the least developed and has the least amount of choice for food and drink. If you want to relax and have a beach all to yourself, this is the place to go. You can easily find a spot of beach and not see many other people all day. There are a few resort owned bars and restaurants spotted around the coast but we found their prices too expensive (meals were around £4-10). We ate inland at a small local run place called “The Warung” which was delicious and really cheap (meals around £1.50). At night we bought beers from the local supermarket to drink at our pool - cheapo travel 101 👌🏻😝
