It would be good for you to visit this place if you are on holiday in Bali. This is Tenganan village, which is a village that still maintains traditions from ancient times. That is why Tenganan is known as the Bali Aga Village. This village is very famous for its tradition called Mekare-kare. It is a tribute to the Indra god, the god of war. I really enjoy visiting this place in the afternoon.

Early this morning, we went to Pura Besakih (Mother Temple) to pray. This is one of the big ceremonies at this temple, it's called "Bethara Turun Kabeh" Ceremony.
The Bhatara Turun Kabeh ceremony is a ceremony which depicts all the Gods and Manifestations of God being placed in the Pesamuan Agung Hall of Pura Besakih and united to give gifts to the congregation to offer their devotion to God. This ceremony is held every year on Sasih Kedasa.

Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali.
One day before Nyepi ceremony ( Silent day). Ogoh-Ogoh is a work of sculpture in Balinese culture that depicts the power of Bhuta Kala. In the embodiment of this statue, Bhuta Kala is usually depicted as a large and frightening figure, usually a Giant (Raksasa). Apart from Giants, there are also several Ogoh - Ogoh which depict creatures that live in Heaven and Hell. Every village and banjar in Bali makes this statue which is then paraded in the city and village. In the past, usually after the Ogoh Ogoh performance it would be burned. But currently many villages keep them because to making them is quite expensive.
