🇬🇧: The Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea) is a master of stealth! Unlike the Grey Heron, which often stands in the open, this elegant bird prefers to stay hidden among reeds and tall grasses. With its long, snake-like neck, it moves slowly and precisely, waiting for the perfect moment to strike at fish, amphibians, and even small mammals. This secretive behavior makes it harder to spot, despite its stunning reddish-purple plumage.

🇮🇩: Cangak Merah (Ardea purpurea) adalah ahli berburu secara diam-diam! Berbeda dengan Cangak Abu yang sering terlihat di tempat terbuka, burung elegan ini lebih s**a bersembunyi di antara alang-alang dan rumput tinggi. Dengan lehernya yang panjang seperti ular, ia bergerak perlahan dan hati-hati, menunggu saat yang tepat untuk menyambar ikan, amfibi, bahkan mamalia kecil. Perilakunya yang tertutup membuatnya sulit ditemukan, meskipun bulunya yang merah keunguan sangat mencolok.

We are rare, prehistoric-looking creature and famous for our incredible upward-curving tusks, which can grow so long they pierce our own skull!

Found only in Sulawesi and its surrounding islands, we are the living fossil, roaming the forests with surprising agility. A true gem of Indonesia’s wildlife!
