🗞️ 📺 “The Bali bonk Ban” ….we know you’ve seen this splashed across your screens over the past few days. But what does it all really mean? 📺🗞️

Indonesia made changes to its criminal code this week which sets out a lot of new criminal laws, including a ban on s*x outside of marriage. 👰🏽

The ban on s*x for unmarried couples made huge headlines right across the world, in fact I spent a lot yesterday being interviewed by Aussie media about this topic and what it means for Bali & tourism. 🏝️ ✈️

There are some key points that need to be highlighted, in order to understand where the process it at, and what it means for tourists in particular…

▪️These changes are yet to be signed off by the President

▪️If the changes do come into affect, it is expected to take up to three years before they are implemented

▪️Only a spouse, parent or child have the right to make a complaint about someone having s*x outside of marriage (no one will be busting into your room to catch you in the act)

▪️Unmarried couples are still able to stay in hotel rooms together and aren’t required to show a marriage certificate

If and when the laws do come into place they are not expected to affect tourists greatly. It is something we will keep you updated on though as things progress. 📝
